Claire Chiang is Senior Vice President of Banyan Tree Holdings Ltd. She is responsible for the strategic direction, management and operation of Banyan Tree and Angsana Galleries. Her diverse portfolio ranges from serving two terms in Singapore’s Parliament from 1997 to 2001, to being one of two women elected to the Board of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which for 89 years had admitted only men.
In 2008, Claire received the Singapore Public Service Medal, for commendable achievement and public service. Ms Chiang’s commitment towards social responsibility also extends to her roles as Co-Chairperson of the National Tripartite Initiative (NTI) on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and President of Singapore Compact.
Additionally in 2008, she was appointed Director, Non-Executive Chairperson of the Wildlife Reserve Singapore, and in November 2008, she was elected to the Global Governing Board of the Caux Round Table, an international network of principled business leaders promoting moral capitalism.
